In all honesty, we cannot go to the gym all the time. However, this should never lessen your desire to work out. Fortunately, despite what your local gym rep will have you imagine, it is possible to get in a great workout at home with minimal equipment – just as good of a workout as you would have at the gym, no less.
Seriously, I absolutely believe that a workout for home can be very beneficial. I know, some of you perhaps you are gasping and crying blasphemy at the top of your lungs, but I truly believe this statement is true. To become successful with a weight training program you need:
To utilize progression. What does this mean? It means that it’s important to continually challenge your muscles to lift either more weight or do more reps than the last time you had been in the gym. Try to make every workout a new personal best, although you may only manage to push out one more repetition than your last workout.
To train to failure (or close to). Take every set to the point where your muscles are just about to give out. By doing so, you are sure that you are exercising your muscles to their full potential. Because you’re training at home, you likely won’t have a spotter, so that’s why I advise going just less than failure.
To introduce different exercises to your muscles each and every time. If you do the identical work outs in the same order for months on end, your muscles will get used to your routine. This may lead to your workouts becoming ineffective.
And… that’s it! You’ve got yourself an awesome home workout.
Naysayers: Give me a cause why this cannot be done at home? Here is a great one.:)
The exercise routine given below assumes that you have some workout equipment in your home. Mainly, a set of dumbbells and a pull-up bar. It is also good to have a basic bench.
Lifters for Newbies
I recommend beginners to start with a full body workout. You can do this by choosing an exercise for each muscle group. Every month or 2, get back to this list and change up your exercises to make sure you’re keeping your muscle on their toes. For beginners, take a look at the exercise list.
Exercises for Intermediate Lifters. You maybe would like to know how many calories should i eat.
For those of you who have been lifting for a longer period of time, your muscles will need a little bit more emphasis to see results. This is the reason a split routine should be done for three times a week. For each workout, take 3-4 physical exercises from 2 different muscle groups listed below. I suggest the following split:
Day 1: Chest/Triceps
Day 2: Break
Third day: Biceps/ Back
Day 4: Rest
Fifth day: Shoulders or legs
Day 6: Break
Day 7: Break
For intermediate lifters, take a review of the exercise list.
Advanced Lifters
If perhaps you were lifting for about two years, it is best that you give attention to one muscle group each day. Take 5-6 of the exercises from 1 muscle group for each workout (excluding biceps and triceps, which I suggest merging into one workout). A sample week will look like this:
First day: Physical exercises for back
Second Day: Workout routines for Triceps and Biceps
Third day: Physical exercises for shoulders
Fourth day: Physical exercises for Legs
Fifth day: Physical physical exercises for Chest
Day 6: Break
Seventh day: Rest

When someone is leading the program at a gym or in a studio they will be instructors that were taught at the Zumba Academy on how to properly lead the class. There are millions of participants around the world that utilize this type of routine.

Someone could do this type of routine at home, in a studio, or at a gym based upon what fits into their schedule and what they would like to do.
